How We Work

Wallace & Hinz supports projects where the design direction is established, but the path to fabrication has yet to be resolved. We typically enter after architectural or design development, translating creative concepts into buildable assemblies through disciplined documentation, coordination, and fabrication planning.

Design Development & Documentation

Building upon client-provided design plans and specifications, we develop detailed CAD models and build drawings that resolve constructability, equipment layout, and utility coordination. This process allows design decisions to be tested, refined, and approved before fabrication begins, reducing risk and uncertainty downstream.

• CAD modeling and shop drawings
• Equipment layout and integration
• Utility coordination and clearances
• Field verification and final dimensions
• Drawing review and approval coordination

Fabrication & Assembly

Once documentation is approved, fabrication is carried out in our shop using a combination of CNC machining and traditional woodworking methods. This approach allows for precision where accuracy matters, and hand work where judgment and finish are required. Components are built, fitted, and staged prior to delivery to ensure consistency and control.

Installation & Coordination

Installation is approached as a continuation of the fabrication process, not a handoff. Our team coordinates with general contractors and site trades to sequence delivery, verify conditions, and install work as documented. This continuity supports efficient installation and minimizes site-level conflicts.

Scope & Integration

Wallace & Hinz operates as a specialty fabricator and installer. While we coordinate closely with design teams and trades, our scope is focused on custom bars and architectural millwork assemblies. Related work by others is coordinated through documentation and field verification rather than assumed.
